Crossjoin has no direct competitors. It operates in all sectors of the market. It has an accumulated track for more than a decade, with references and success cases, in some of the largest international organizations, among them: telecommunications, banking, health, and governmental institutions. Crossjoin distinguishes itself, with strong human/technical skills, with its unique and own accelerators/diagnostic tools and systematic analysis methods. Internationally, Crossjoin has notably achieved a high contribution in the application of its methods, mainly with the collaboration and leadership in projects involving Cloud Computing and Digital Transformations. If the driver is to solve a problem of service availability, slowness or threat due to technical security failures at the infrastructure level, base systems, data repository, networks, applications or systems integration, and an immediate response is required or in a space of relatively short time, Crossjoin is the best-specialized company capable of applying the existing data to address this challenges.

Crossjoin’s mission is to implement technology in practically every type of business, in order to facilitate them. What are the biggest difficulties you face in this aspect? Do you think you are still far from this goal?

When Crossjoin or one of our clients doesn’t have the burden of implementing or maintaining the systems targeted for optimization, there may be barriers to accessing production systems and implementing our recommendations by partners working directly with our customers.

However, our “Joiner” principle/spirit allows us to gain the trust of all partners involved and to focus efforts on a common goal: the satisfaction of our customers.

The truth is that technology is a universe that is constantly changing and is increasingly a necessity in the professional world. Thus, becoming more competitive. How can RPA make business methods more efficient in companies? What are the biggest challenges you face when competing with other projects?

In line with our mission, the Robotic Process Automation offering is being developed to streamline the most repetitive tasks that are done by humans. This solution will save a lot of time that can be used for other areas within the organization where value can be added. It is estimated that 30% of the tasks we do on a daily basis can be automated, thus making business processes in companies more efficient. This technology is not intended to replace the role people play, but to create time for other tasks. Our goal is to ensure that these three dimensions work in harmony to guarantee an optimal solution.

Focusing now on the question of how easy it is to analyze resumes, for example. Do you consider the cost and time-saving factor is crucial when companies adopt this process? Is the CEO’s mentality already advanced enough, in the sense that they accept that a robot is selecting the candidates?

Yes, Robotic Process Automation is proven to save companies time and costs. Our team has prepared a demonstration where it is possible to see that with the application of RPA, a manual process of resume analysis that takes several days can be automated to take only a few minutes. In this way it will be perceptible that the next step in the digital transformation of your organization is critical to be able to keep up with the changes in the market in which they fit. This new area of focus for our company fits our vision and is positioned as a fundamental part of our future.

Crossjoin also owns an academy: the “Crossmind”. A center of excellence for those who are entering the job market. With what expectations is this project launched? And, given the current pandemic situation we live in, how is the learning process of the candidates?

The Crossmind Academy project fits into Crossjoin’s vision for the future. Our company is a center of excellence and our Academy allows young people to acquire a strong technical component and assimilate our methodologies and organization, to face the challenges we encounter with a very Crosser and Joiner spirit. The learning process was not impacted by the pandemic, we continue to invest in hiring young graduates/recent masters in all universities in our country. Our company quickly adapted to a hybrid model, both in face-to-face format, when it was possible to do it in our Technological Center, and online. The fact that each learning plan is tailor-made for each of the young talents that join us allows us to have a goal-focused approach to rapid learning aligned with the projects and challenges that the market and our clients place on us.

Crossjoin already has locations in Lisbon, Almada, Porto, and Santiago de Chile, and the main focus is to continue to expand throughout the country, in order to implement future competencies in this area where there are still gaps between market needs and graduates. What are, for you, the ones that need to be filled? How is it still possible to make a digital transition when it comes to these needs?

Crossjoin has made a huge investment on the training of new talents for integration in our company and to provide an advanced technological knowledge base, in order to respond to the challenges that we are faced with on a daily basis. Our approach has been proactive, with universities and associations so that we can carry out several initiatives that have allowed us to closely monitor what is done daily in the main national training centers. The proximity of our Technological Pole in Almada and the remaining working spaces of the main faculties, allows us to act as a knowledge-sharing center. The bet in a hybrid model allows us to respond to some opportunities that the market presents to us, hence the bet of our company in strategic locations all over the country and in other geographies.

Crossjoin is still a pioneer in the kind of services it offers. What are the future projects? And what do you think will be the evolution of digital transition in Portugal in the medium and long term?

Crossjoin is a market leader in the area of Performance and Optimization of Information Systems and furthermore, wants to continue its growth by investing in areas that will continue to stand out in the future such as Robotic Process Automation, the Cloud area and by expanding our offer in the area of cybersecurity. Our investment in these services is being made with technical experts and young talents who are trained daily in our Crossjoin Academy.
